“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6, NKJV)
This lesson concludes our study of Philippians and shows how citizens of heaven can live with trust and inner peace while facing life’s challenges on earth.
“Be anxious for nothing…”
God knows we worry a lot about life—health, safety, finances, and the future.
Yet He calls us not to live under the control of fear.
This does not mean problems disappear, but that we choose to trust Him with every problem.
“…but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving…”
Instead of worrying, we are invited to talk to God.
Prayer is our daily conversation with Him.
Supplication is asking God for help when we know we cannot manage on our own.
Thanksgiving means trusting God enough to thank Him before the answer comes.
“…let your requests be made known to God.”
God invites us to tell Him everything we need.
He already knows them, but He wants us to depend on Him.
When we bring everything to Him, His peace guards our hearts and minds in Christ.
What this means for you
Identify one worry you are carrying today and bring it to God in prayer.
Thank Him for His past faithfulness, even while you wait for answers.
Choose to let God’s peace—not fear—guide your thoughts and actions.
This memory text teaches us that when we pray instead of worry, and thank God instead of fear, we receive His peace that never fails.
